Get Involved

The Al-Madinah Executive Board can only do so much on our own, thus we require the help of volunteers and several committees throughout the year to fulfill our mission. Not only does this help us but it gives you many opportunities to get involved. The committees include the First Year Mentoring Program Committee, College Day Committee, and the Islam Awareness Week Committee. If you don’t get a chance to be apart of one of these committees, you can always volunteer at our events! We also have monthly volunteering events where Al-Madinah and it’s general body help out in the great twin-cities community.

Volunteering with  the HOME Program

The HOME Program is hiring for three positions: snow removal workers (seasonal), housekeeper and billing assistant (both part-time). We are continuing to rake for elders until the snow stays and will resume when it melts. You choose the date and time to rake and clean up the yard. Exact location TBD in Minneapolis or Suburban Hennepin County, depends upon where the senior citizen resides. Ongoing unpaid volunteer opportunities are also available.

Islam Awareness Week Committee

Al-Madinah and the Muslim Students Association’s biggest event of the year is the Islam Awareness Week. Being a part of the committee requires an immense amount of dedication, commitment and responsibility! The Committee has an immense set of responsibilities, including technical planning, inter- and intra-personal communication, creativity, and execution. Committee members should expect to dedicate time, effort, and serious thought into this process. Applicants are requested to understand the seriousness of this application and be mindful of the amount of work that must go into planning and executing this event.
